We have created this page to discuss some of the ways Dr. Jeremy Thomas gives back to the community. This page will also alert you to any upcoming events and lectures.
MISSION TRIPS: Dr. Jeremy Thomas goes out of the country each year and gives back to the children through surgical foot and ankle mission work. He is planning a trip this year. These trips are around 7 to 10 days long and involves doing surgical correction of foot and ankle deformities for children between the ages of 2-15. We are currently collecting supplies in our office for donation. Some of the items that would be greatly appreciated for the upcoming trips are tennis shoes, walking boots (CAM Walkers), surgical shoes, crutches or toys for the children. We also want to thank everyone who has donated supplies in the past.
URBAN MINISTRIES: Dr. Jeremy Thomas also spends his time at Urban Ministries helping people with foot and ankle ailments. Dr. Thomas will be treating patients again in 2012. Triangle Foot and Ankle Specialist feels strongly about helping those that need medical care. This volunteer time gives Dr. Thomas the chance to see people who may have otherwise never received care. It is just one of the ways we give back to the community.
COMMUNITY LECTURES: Lecturing is another way to help educate the community. As a Podiatry Institute faculty member Dr. Thomas lectures in the local community and throughout the country on various foot and ankle topics. We strongly believe that it is vital to educate the public on proper foot and ankle health related issues. **Triangle Foot and Ankle gave a generous contribution to the Western Carolina University Soccer team for the 2011/2012 season.
**Dr. Thomas will be teaching a course on foot and ankle surgery in March 2012. The course will cover everything foot and ankle related with a focus on surgical technique and proper procedure. Doctors from all over the world attend these courses. Dr. Thomas will be the lead instructor.
**Triangle Foot and Ankle will be present at a few upcoming health fairs and events discusing biomechanics,heel pain,trauma,ankle injuries, fractures and ingrown nails to name a few topics. If you or your business would like Dr. Thomas to give a lunch lecture on foot and ankle related issues please contact our office.
**Dr. Thomas has been lecturing at the office once a month (night session) on specific topics of choice depending on the group and foot or ankle interest. These topics could include diabetes/heel pain/flat feet/shoe gear/running pain/ankle sprains/high arches/corns or callus/proper nail care etc...
